About THE MINISTRY
Our hope is to connect students and young adults to community through reconciliation and creativity!

Who we are
Baptist Collegiate Ministry aka BCM is made up of ODU students and young adults from across the Hampton Roads region. Our community is made up of Christ-followers, people who just want to make friends, and those who want to live, learn and grow in community. God exists in community (Father, Son & Holy Spirit) and we believe we should as well! We're praying that we'll be a safe space for one another as we continue to learn from Jesus's example and each other.
We are a part of the Kairos Initiative, the young adult ministry of the Baptist General Association of Virginia. We participate in statewide conferences, leadership development and mission initiatives.
Meet The Team
Our Campus ministry has been around since ODU was ODC (Old Dominion College!) back in the 1960s. Since then we have seen many leaders and many more students and young adults who have been eager to pursue everything God has in store for them.
Since the start BCM (formally BSU) has made waves in areas from music to ping pong! YES! BCM has an album, a collection of music recorded in the Spring of '75 by the Christian Life music ministry group from the BSU. BSU was also responsible for starting a ping pong tournament that got so much traction, ODU took it over the next year!
Jesus, community, and creativity has always been in our DNA. Thank you to ministers past who have worked diligently to ensure Jesus' footprint was on ODU. They've did their part well while at ODU and continue to do so in their new adventures!
